LOS ANGELES (AP) — Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke died in May at age 29 from an accidental overdose of heroin and cocaine, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. Clarke was found dead at a home near Los Angeles on May 11, with drug paraphernalia discovered at the scene. He had a contract with the Grizzlies through the 2026-27 season and had recently faced legal issues, including an arrest for drug possession. Clarke played for Memphis throughout his seven-year NBA career after graduating from Gonzaga.
