Clay Holmes is excited to join the Chicago Cubs’ revamped pitching staff, which includes fellow acquisition Kevin Gausman. With a strong groundball percentage and a robust defense behind him, Holmes aims to leverage the Cubs’ Gold Glove winners as he returns from a broken leg. Acquired from the Mets along with Tyrone Taylor, he is open to bullpen work if necessary. The Cubs currently lead the NL wild-card standings with a 65-49 record.
