After seven years in North American professional hockey, winger Jake Leschyshyn has signed a one-year contract with Finnish Liiga’s HIFK for the 2026-27 season. Drafted by the Vegas Golden Knights in 2017, Leschyshyn struggled in the NHL, spending most of his time in the AHL with teams like the Chicago Wolves and Hartford Wolf Pack, where he managed 21 goals and 43 points in 116 games. Last season, he played for the Buffalo Sabres’ AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans, contributing 13 goals and 22 points in 66 games. Now, he aims to revitalize his career overseas.
