The Atlanta Braves traded two minor league pitchers, Lucas Braun and Carter Holton, to the Kansas City Royals for outfielder Lane Thomas and left-hander Bailey Falter. Thomas, 30, is hitting .230 this season and will transition to left field for the Braves, where he is expected to platoon with Mike Yastrzemski. His notable career success against left-handed pitching and strong clubhouse presence were highlighted by Braves President Alex Anthopoulos. Falter will report to Triple-A Gwinnett after spending most of the season with Triple-A Omaha.
