The Washington Wizards have engaged in discussions with free agent DeMar DeRozan, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. DeRozan, who averaged 18.4 points per game last season with the Sacramento Kings and is a six-time NBA All-Star, has also attracted interest from the Miami Heat, Denver Nuggets, and Cleveland Cavaliers. The Wizards have approximately $11.5 million in luxury tax space and the full non-taxpayer mid-level exception to offer a free agent. If signed, DeRozan could add depth to Washington’s wing alongside Khris Middleton.
