The Washington Commanders have fired tight ends coach Ben Steele, effective immediately, following his arrest for suspected DUI and obstruction in June. The team cited a violation of policy as the reason for his dismissal and will announce a replacement shortly before training camp opens. Steele, who joined the Commanders in February after coaching for the Arizona Cardinals, has a history of NFL coaching and playing experience. Wes Welker temporarily took over coaching duties during Steele’s leave.
