San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan sustained non-life-threatening injuries, including a broken hand, in a car accident on July 14. As a result, he will participate in training camp activities on a limited basis while recovering. The organization has appointed assistant head coach Chris Foerster and coordinators Klay Kubiak, Raheem Morris, and Brant Boyer to manage coaching duties during his absence. Shanahan, in his 10th season, has a regular-season record of 82-67 and has led the team to five playoff appearances.
