Matt Calvert, a former NHL forward, has joined the Nashville Predators as their new Forward Development Coach, focusing on the team’s forward prospects. The 36-year-old played 11 seasons in the NHL, amassing 95 goals and 203 points with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Colorado Avalanche before retiring in 2021 due to injury. Calvert previously starred with the Brandon Wheat Kings in the WHL and co-founded a player agency after his playing career. His hiring reunites him with Predators’ GM Chris MacFarland, who worked in Colorado during Calvert’s tenure there.
