Veteran reliever Danny Coulombe has been released by the Red Sox after clearing waivers, following his designation for assignment last weekend. Coulombe’s contract included performance incentives, and he was cut just before reaching a bonus for his 30th game appearance, finishing with a 4.50 ERA in 22 innings. His recent performance marked a significant decline, as he had previously maintained a sub-3.00 ERA for four seasons. Coulombe, who struggled after a successful stint with the Twins, may quickly join another MLB team.
