Jason Gregor from the Daily Faceoff podcast highlights that the Montreal Canadiens will play 19 games against teams on the second night of back-to-back matches, the most in the NHL, while the Toronto Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets will only face such opponents five times. Although this could give the Canadiens an advantage, they will also be in a back-to-back scenario for four of those games. Last season, the Canadiens had a strong record of 9-5-2 in second games of back-to-backs. This season, they will have only 10 back-to-back games, benefiting from a lighter schedule without the Olympics.
