Major League Baseball (MLB) and the MLB Players Association (MLBPA) are at odds over player participation in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. While MLB supports mandatory participation to showcase its stars, the union opposes restrictions that could impose fines or suspensions. MLB has reserved hotel accommodations and is discussing ticket access for players, but the MLBPA has yet to counter MLB’s proposal. The U.S., Dominican Republic, and Venezuela have already qualified for the Olympics, with three spots remaining.
