After a challenging year, LSU Baseball’s Jay Johnson looks to rebuild, aided by early MLB Draft selections of Derek Curiel (1st round, Pirates), Jake Brown (2nd round, Mariners), and Deven Sheerin (4th round, Phillies). Unlike last year, only three recruits were drafted, leaving hope for retaining key players. Additionally, recruits Logan Schmidt (Guardians), Jensen Hirschkorn (Braves), and Wessley Roberson (Marlins) were also selected, raising questions about their commitment to LSU. As the draft continues, the program’s future appears promising, contingent on landing potential “longshots.”
