Mike Boynton Jr. Named Michigan’s Head Men’s Basketball Coach
Mike Boynton Jr. has signed a two-year contract to become Michigan’s head men’s basketball coach after serving as interim coach following Dusty May’s departure. Boynton, who previously helped establish a top-ranked defense at Michigan, expressed gratitude for the opportunity and aims to build on the team’s success. He successfully retained key players, including guard Trey McKenney and Final Four MVP Elliot Cadeau, while Michigan is currently ranked No. 5 in ESPN’s Way-Too-Early Top 25. Prior to Michigan, Boynton was the head coach at Oklahoma State, leading the team to the 2021 NCAA tournament.
