Roma has lost the race to sign Mason Greenwood, who is set to join Fenerbahce for €40m plus bonuses, with 40% going to Manchester United. Although Roma initially offered a higher transfer fee, Fenerbahce’s lucrative wage package of around €10m per season swayed the player. Coach Gian Piero Gasperini had prioritized Greenwood to strengthen the attack after Champions League qualification, but fan petitions against his signing highlighted concerns about his past. Greenwood, who had a prolific season at Marseille, will now sign a four-year contract with the Turkish club.
