Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander has been selected as a “Legend Pick” for the AL All-Star team by commissioner Rob Manfred, despite being injured and unable to play. The 43-year-old, a three-time AL Cy Young winner, has only made one appearance this season, giving up five earned runs in 3 2/3 innings. Verlander will attend the All-Star Game in Philadelphia to be honored. Further updates will be provided.
