Reigning National League Cy Young Award winner Paul Skenes had the worst start of his career, allowing eight runs (seven earned) over four innings against the Philadelphia Phillies. This marked only the eighth time in 72 big-league starts that Skenes did not complete five innings. His season ERA is now at 3.62. Cam Sanders replaced him in the fifth inning with the Pirates trailing 8-4.
