Islanders captain Anders Lee has announced he will enter free agency after a productive 2025-26 season, finishing with 42 points in 82 games. The 35-year-old forward, who has been with the team since 2009, scored 308 goals, the most by an Islander since 2012. Despite discussions for an extension with GM Mathieu Darche, the two sides remain far apart. Lee’s leadership and scoring ability may attract interest from contending teams in the free agent market.
