The Dragons capitalized on early mistakes, and despite a two-run homer from Stephen Hrustich, the Whitecaps couldn’t recover. They will host the Lake County Captains on Tuesday.
Lakeland Flying Tigers 3, Daytona Tortugas 1 (box)
Lakeland secured a 3-1 victory over Daytona, with Connor Fenlong impressing in his debut with 4 2/3 scoreless innings. The Flying Tigers scored all their runs in one inning, highlighted by Hunter Dobbins’ three-run homer. Lakeland faces the Palm Beach Cardinals at home on Tuesday.
