The Boston Celtics have signed Ron Harper Jr. to a three-year, $9 million deal after he declined a $2.6 million team option to negotiate a long-term contract. Harper, who averaged 4.2 points in 29 games with the Celtics and excelled in the G-League, saw increased playing time during the playoffs. A former standout at Rutgers, he gained recognition for his buzzer-beater against No.1 Purdue and earned All-Big Ten honors. He now joins his brother Dylan and Ace Bailey as former Rutgers players in the NBA.
