After the Pittsburgh Steelers fired senior special teams coach Derius Swinton II for workplace misconduct, they have hired Darian Thompson as a special teams quality control coach. Thompson, a former player and assistant coach under head coach Mike McCarthy, was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in 2016 and played for the Dallas Cowboys from 2018 to 2021, accumulating 173 tackles. He previously served as an assistant linebackers coach with the Cowboys before joining the Steelers, where he will work alongside special teams coordinator Danny Crossman.
