The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ defensive tackle Vita Vea is skipping drills at mandatory minicamp, following his absence in voluntary OTAs, due to contract issues. Entering the final year of a $71-million extension, Vea is set to earn $17 million next season, all non-guaranteed, ranking 19th among interior linemen in average salary. Head coach Todd Bowles downplayed the situation, stating it’s part of the business. Vea, a key player since being drafted in 2018, has recorded 48 tackles for loss and 35 sacks in his career.
