Former NHL forward Kyle Calder has passed away at the age of 47, as confirmed by his daughter Madison on Instagram. Calder, born in 1979 in Alberta, played for the Detroit Red Wings among other teams during his career, which included stints with the Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers. He accumulated 114 goals and 180 assists over 590 NHL games and contributed to the Red Wings’ playoff run in 2007. Calder’s impactful career began in the WHL with the Regina Pats before being drafted in 1997.
