Verlander to Start Sunday Against White Sox

Detroit Tigers veteran right-hander Justin Verlander will be activated from the injured list and is set to start on Sunday against the Chicago White Sox at Comerica Park, as announced by manager A.J. Hinch. This marks Verlander’s first home start with the Tigers since August 30, 2017, prior to his trade to the Houston Astros after 14 seasons in Detroit. He rejoined the Tigers this offseason but only made one road start before suffering a hip injury.
