Mets pitcher Kodai Senga may return to the mound as early as Thursday following a minor setback due to ulnar nerve irritation in his right arm. Manager Carlos Mendoza reported that Senga felt good after playing catch, despite being scratched from a rehab assignment. The 33-year-old, who is recovering from lumbar spine inflammation, described the irritation as “minor” and part of his mechanical adjustment process. Meanwhile, infielder Ronny Mauricio has resumed baseball activities as he recovers from a fractured right thumb.
