Francisco Alvarez is recovering well from his right meniscus surgery and is set to begin a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Syracuse. The Mets have managed without him, thanks in part to Luis Torrens, who has performed well but faced an injury scare after being hit by a pitch. Jorge Polanco may also start his rehab assignment soon, though his playing time will be monitored upon his return. David Peterson has excelled as a reliever, continuing to perform better out of the bullpen than as a starter.
