Diamondbacks right-hander Cristian Mena will undergo shoulder surgery, likely ending his 2026 season before it begins, according to manager Torey Lovullo. Mena, who has been on the injured list since June 2025 with a teres major strain, has not pitched in nearly two years and will be placed on the 60-day injured list. Originally signed by the White Sox in 2019, he was traded to Arizona for outfielder Dominic Fletcher and has made limited MLB appearances. Despite being a top prospect, Mena’s durability issues raise concerns about his future role in the league.
