The Philadelphia Phillies reinstated right-hander Zach Pop from the 15-day injured list but designated him for assignment to make room for Max Lazar, who was activated from the 60-day IL and optioned to Triple-A. Pop, who struggled with a calf strain and had a 3.86 ERA in spring training, allowed three earned runs in seven appearances this season. Lazar, returning from a left oblique strain, had a 2.70 ERA in the minors this year but is unlikely to impact the big league team significantly. The Phillies needed a temporary long man in the bullpen with Aaron Nola on the paternity list, opting for Nolan Hoffman instead.
