The Kansas City Royals have designated left-hander Bailey Falter for assignment due to his struggles, allowing runs in all five of his appearances this season, including a seven-run outing against the Yankees. Acquired from the Pirates last July, Falter has a dismal 12.46 ERA in 21 2/3 innings with the Royals. Righty Mason Black has been recalled from Triple-A Omaha as a corresponding move. Falter is expected to go unclaimed on waivers and will likely head back to Omaha to attempt to improve his performance.
