The Buffalo Sabres have extended coach Lindy Ruff’s contract for two years following a successful season that ended a 14-year playoff drought and secured the team’s first Atlantic Division title. Ruff, a Jack Adams finalist, has a storied history with the franchise, having previously coached for 17 seasons. This season marked a significant improvement, with Buffalo achieving 50 wins and 109 points, attributed to team health and the leadership of new GM Jarmo Kekalainen. The re-signing was anticipated, allowing Ruff to build on the team’s recent success.
