The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed first baseman/right fielder Ryan O’Hearn on the 10-day injured list due to a right quad strain, following his removal from a game against the Philadelphia Phillies. In his absence, outfielder Jake Mangum has been reinstated from the injured list after recovering from a left hamstring strain. O’Hearn, who has been a key player with a .289 batting average and 29 RBIs this season, will be missed as the team seeks offensive contributions from Bryan Reynolds and others. Billy Cook is expected to fill in during O’Hearn’s recovery.
