NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell requested a Monday Night Football game between the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons for the 2026 season at Caesars Superdome, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Saints’ 2006 “Domecoming” win over the Falcons. Scheduled for October 5, the game falls 10 days after the anniversary of the iconic match, which featured Steve Gleason’s memorable blocked punt. NFL VP Mike North noted that while the exact date wasn’t critical, fitting it into the schedule was essential. Atlanta initially hesitated to play as the road team for this anniversary event.
