Charlton Athletic defender Charlotte Newsham has suffered a serious Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury, along with damage to her Lateral Collateral Ligament (LCL), posterolateral corner, and hamstring tendon. The injury occurred during a match against Birmingham City, in which she played 85 minutes. Following a thorough assessment, she will undergo surgery and is expected to be sidelined for the entire 2026/2027 season. This setback comes after Charlton missed automatic promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League, facing Leicester City in a crucial play-off.
