Cashius Howell, the reigning SEC Defensive Player of the Year from Texas A&M, was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft, much to the disappointment of his hometown Kansas City Chiefs. The Bengals, eager to secure Howell, attempted to trade up with the New York Giants, who were also interested in moving back if their preferred player, Colton Hood, was unavailable. This offseason, the Bengals showcased a newfound aggression in their approach, highlighted by their trade for Dexter Lawrence II and efforts to improve their roster. The organization aims to translate this urgency into a return to postseason play.
