The Cleveland Browns have signed undrafted free agent cornerback Michael Coats, who previously played at West Virginia. In a corresponding move, the team waived tight end Sal Cannella, who had recently appeared in two games for the Browns after a varied career that included stints with the Dolphins, Packers, and in the USFL and XFL. Cannella caught two passes for 11 yards with the Browns in 2025, following a season where he recorded 44 receptions for 474 yards and a touchdown with the Arlington Renegades. Cannella originally went undrafted out of Auburn in 2021.
