Anthony Volpe made an impressive return to Triple-A, going 2-for-4 with three on-base appearances in Scranton’s loss to Worcester. He hit a 103 mph infield single, was hit by a pitch, and scored on Spencer Jones’ homer. Although he showed strong performance, Volpe will remain in the minors as Jose Caballero has secured the Yankees’ starting SS position. Manager Aaron Boone acknowledged Volpe’s potential but deemed the current decision appropriate.
