The Cubs have sent infielder/outfielder Scott Kingery and right-hander Vince Velasquez outright to Triple-A Iowa after they cleared waivers. Kingery, who turns 32 soon, had limited playing time with the Cubs, appearing in eight games. He has the option to elect free agency due to his service time but may remain with the Cubs as non-roster depth. Velasquez made one scoreless relief appearance before being designated for assignment to make room for another player.
