The Philadelphia Phillies have fired manager Rob Thomson following a disappointing 9-19 start to the season. Don Mattingly, previously the bench coach, will serve as interim manager through the end of the 2026 season. The team also elevated Dusty Wathan to bench coach and added Anthony Contreras as third base coach. Thomson, who led the Phillies to an NL pennant in 2022 and secured a contract extension through 2027, had a 355-270 record with the team.
