Monte Coleman, a former linebacker for the Washington Commanders, has passed away at the age of 68. He played on all three of the team’s Super Bowl championship squads and was recognized as a vital component of their defenses in the 1980s and early ’90s. Drafted in 1979, Coleman recorded 17 interceptions, 49½ sacks, and holds the second-most appearances in franchise history. He was also a former head coach at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where he left a lasting impact on student-athletes.
