Gabriele Gravina has resigned as President of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) after Italy’s third consecutive World Cup qualification failure, with elections set for June 22. At 72, Gravina’s tenure since October 2018 has seen ongoing struggles for the national team. Giovanni Malagò, 67, and Giancarlo Abete, 76, are prominent candidates to succeed him, alongside Italy legend Gianni Rivera, 82, who has also announced his candidacy. The new president will choose the next Italy coach.
