RJ Petit, a right-handed pitcher for the Colorado Rockies, has undergone Tommy John surgery on his right elbow after injuring it during a game against Team USA on March 4. The surgery was performed by Dr. Keith Meister, and Petit will miss the entire 2026 season. Drafted by the Rockies in the Rule 5 Draft from the Tigers, Petit had pitched three innings in spring training prior to his injury. This surgery opens a roster spot for the Rockies as they prepare for Opening Day.
