McCartney, 36, began his coaching career at LSU in 2011 and has held various roles, including offensive quality control coach for the Browns and quarterbacks coach for the Broncos. He helped quarterback Drew Lock achieve a 64.1 completion percentage in 2019 and was later with the Browns before briefly serving as QBs coach for the Patriots.
