In a recent poll regarding the MLB Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) system, 76% favored an always-on ABS, while only 9% supported a challenge system for 2026 with two challenges. The MLB has simplified the ABS for 2026 by using a flat rectangular strike zone based on batter height, eliminating previous complicated systems. While there are other potential strike zone configurations, the current setup aims to enhance clarity and consistency in officiating. Feedback and preferences for alternative systems are encouraged from the audience.
