Chris Sale Extends Contract with Braves
Former Cy Young-winning left-hander Chris Sale has agreed to a one-year, $27 million contract extension with the Atlanta Braves, which includes a $30 million club option for 2028. The 36-year-old, who previously expressed a desire to finish his career in Atlanta, had a strong 2023 season before injuries cut it short. Braves president Alex Anthopoulos hopes Sale will remain with the team for as long as he wishes, valuing his contributions both on and off the field.
