Sebastian Aho, the Penguins’ depth defender, is expected to sign with Växjö Lakers HC in the Swedish Hockey League when he becomes an unrestricted free agent after this season. Aho, who has spent his entire two-year contract with the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and has yet to play an NHL game, has faced challenges due to injuries and size limitations. Originally a fifth-round pick by the Islanders in 2017, he recorded 50 points in 190 NHL games before moving to Pittsburgh. While he continues to produce in the minors, he may choose to return to Sweden to continue his career.
