Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports that the Cleveland Browns have promoted linebackers coach Jason Tarver to run game coordinator. Tarver was previously a finalist for the team’s defensive coordinator position before Mike Rutenberg was hired. This move follows other defensive staff promotions, including Ephraim Banda to pass game coordinator and Brandon Lynch to DBs coach/pass game specialist. Tarver, 45, has an extensive coaching background, having worked with the 49ers, Raiders, and Vanderbilt before joining the Browns in 2020.
