The Texas Rangers will honor Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan by giving away replica blood-stained throwback jerseys to fans at their May 29 game against the Royals, commemorating his iconic performance on September 8, 1990, when he pitched with blood on his uniform after being hit in the face. Ryan, who had a stellar 27-year career and is MLB’s all-time strikeouts leader, also had his No. 34 retired by the Rangers in 1996. Additionally, a bobblehead honoring his famous fight with Robin Ventura will be distributed on July 20, 2023. Ryan served as the Rangers’ president and CEO from 2008 to 2013 after his playing career.
