Houston’s Alperen Sengun has been selected as a replacement for Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for the NBA All-Star Game on February 15, making him Turkey’s first two-time All-Star. Gilgeous-Alexander withdrew due to a strained abdominal muscle. Sengun is averaging 20.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 6.3 assists this season, and he joins Mehmet Okur as one of only two Turkish All-Stars. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver also added Kawhi Leonard to ensure the U.S. team meets roster requirements.
