Barcelona has officially withdrawn from the proposed European Super League, joining a growing list of clubs distancing themselves from the controversial project. Initially a key supporter alongside Real Madrid, Barcelona’s exit follows widespread backlash since the Super League’s announcement in 2021. With this decision, Madrid remains the last major club backing the initiative, which was rebranded as the Unify League in 2024. The Super League aimed to create a new elite tournament but faced significant opposition, leading to the withdrawal of many founding clubs.
