Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor will miss the 2026 World Baseball Classic due to a recent elbow procedure. A statement from the MLB Players Association confirmed that Lindor, who had a cleanup procedure on his right elbow, is disappointed but ineligible to participate due to WBC insurance constraints. He was set to captain team Puerto Rico, having previously led them to the quarterfinals in 2023. Lindor, an All-Star with strong 2023 stats, will fully engage in spring training activities.
