The Los Angeles Chargers have appointed Chris O’Leary, previously the defensive coordinator at Western Michigan, as their new defensive coordinator, according to Adam Schefter. O’Leary has connections to former Chargers DC Jesse Minter, who left for the head coach position at the Ravens. His coaching career began at Georgia State in 2015, followed by roles at Florida Tech and Notre Dame before joining the Chargers’ staff as safeties coach in 2024. He later moved to Western Michigan before his recent hiring by the Chargers.
